Psalm 35: Fight for Me

Psalm 35 is a powerful cry for justice, where David pleads with God to fight on his behalf. He is being falsely accused and attacked by enemies who repay evil for good, yet he chooses to turn to God rather than take revenge.

It opens with:

“Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.” — v.1

And later says:

“They repay me evil for good... yet when they were ill, I mourned for them.” — vv.12–14

“Let those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and be glad.” — v.27
